Start with the real entity
Use the real name, community, address, official website, and other facts when available. The goal is one useful page for each real-world entity.
Directory listings need core information
Current directory listing forms require an official or best public website. Listings that need map placement also require an address. Events require start and end dates. Deals require a start date and expiration date.
Keep listing text objective
Directory submissions are intended for factual information. Personal opinions belong in reviews after a listing exists.
What happens after submission
Submitted information enters the review process before it appears publicly. The record may be corrected, consolidated, rejected, or taken down when necessary.
Avoid duplicates
If the same real-world entity is already listed, use the existing record instead of creating another copy.
